The international name "Burgman" was chosen by Suzuki with the help of a European consulting firm to imply status and practicality, and it is derived from the German word "Burg," meaning "castle," which signifies high status and occasionally a hero. This collaboration is in line with the guidelines of Europe's Swappable Batteries Motorcycle Consortium, which includes Honda and Yamaha as original members.
